Danny J. Lorentzen
This is my short biography, I didn’t grow up in church. “I am what I am by the grace of God, "the founder and Senior Pastor of The Rock Church of the Quad Cities, since Father’s Day 2002.
My primary passion’s are to be a Tender Warrior for the Kingdom of God, to influence multitudes for eternity by pouring the love of Jesus into their lives, to create a “Safe House” (Church) where people can grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ and to burn for what I cannot lose all the days of my life. I have been pursuing these passions for 33 years.
Most of those years have been with my best friend, helpmate, and amazing wife Terri of 30 years. She is my first priority, learning to love and cherish her as Christ loves and cherishes his church. I am passionate about her in every way.
I’m also passionate about the people God has called me to serve. I am committed to their lives being all that they can be as God’s children, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, relationally, and monetarily. I pray for them as often as I think of them, which is quite often, and I study incessantly to grow and learn in every area I believe will bless those I pastor.
I’m somewhat of an entrepreneur, I love to watch football (The Bears), I certainly enjoy my Harley Davidson, always enjoy being with my family, and along with my family members I also have been bitten by the QCCrossfit bug.
I post on twitter, Facebook, and my blog page, but not very often. Usually only when I feel like what I have to say is worth hearing.
First and foremost I am Dan's wife. Secondly I'm the mother of two wonderful children and the grandmother of one, almost 2 grandchildren. And thirdly I do some speaking and some mentoring at rock church. I have a passion for the word of God above everything else. Nothing is more exciting in my life than to watch people apply the word of God and see their lives change miraculously. I was raised in the church however about six years ago God gave us. The miraculous revelation of his grace. That revelation has radically changed my life and now I am out to radically change the lives of other people. For too long religion has beat people down, beat people up, and caused so much failure in peoples lives. The Gospel of Grace is one of good news and it's very simple; Jesus paid the price for anything we have ever, or will ever commit.
On a personal note there's nothing I love more than spending time with my family, camping, shopping, and of course football! Roll Tide! Go Bears!
My name is Nathan Farrell and I'm the Worship Pastor at Rock Church. Since I was a teenager I've been serving in local churches in music ministry. I love seeing others lives changed in the presence of God. In 2006 I felt a strong leading from the Lord to attend the New Life School of Worship in Colorado Springs. I received training in Worship Arts Ministry, and graduated with the highest recommendation from the Director.
In 2011, my wife, Katie, and I knew that the Lord was calling us out from Colorado Springs. That following spring we moved to the Quad Cities. Katie and I have 2 kids, Caleb and Miriam, who are my greatest joys in life and are honestly, the happiest kids I know. We are so incredibly blessed.
My greatest passion in life is to be a part of a community that passionately pursues God's presence. That's exactly what drew us to Rock Church. It's a place where people are loved unconditionally, and God is pusued relentlessly.
I have been a part of Rock Church for 9 years now and on staff for almost 4 years. I felt like Rock Church was home the first time I walked in the doors. I also rededicated my life to Jesus the first year at the Rock. Kids Ministry has always been a passion of mine when I decided not to become an elementary education teacher. There is something about Kids faith that is so amazing. They have faith like a mustard seed and let it grow like a bean stock.
